本剧改编自同名漫画，讲述了在昭和时代，四姐妹中的三女儿关谷夏美（芳根京子饰）在樱花盛开的春日，因突如其来的一纸婚约，与帝国海军军官江端泷昌（本田响矢饰）订婚。然而，就在婚礼当天，泷昌因工作无法到场，婚姻生活在“新郎缺席”的混乱开局中拉开序幕。两个对恋爱毫无经验、青涩纯真的年轻人，在困惑与摸索中，以“夫妻”这一纽带彼此牵绊、相互靠近，并逐渐培养出深厚的爱意。
